American Evaluation Association’s Social Impact Measurement Topical Interest Group: Using a system lens to assess impact

The Systems in Evaluation Topical Interest Group (SETIG) and the Social Impact Measurement TIG (SIM TIG) co-hosted a webinar assessing impact using the principles for systems thinking in evaluation (i.e., systems-in-evaluation perspectives, boundaries, interrelationships, and dynamics). Guest speaker, Delilah Rothenberg, Co-founder & Executive Director, Predistribution Initiative (PDI) shares how they assess investors’ contributions to impacts, and guest speaker Caitlin Shannon, Research and Evidence Director at CARE USA, shares how they brought together impact and cost data in a financial inclusion program for women entrepreneurs focused on systems change. Delilah shares how to assess the impact of investor contributions, while Caitlin shares efforts to analyze the cost effectiveness of CARE’s programs as part of a broader consortium with several other INGOs.
